FOREIGN LICENSE VALIDATION
Foreign pilots’ licenses are subject to verification because they are not considered tamper-proof. Therefore, you should complete the FAA Verification of Authenticity form online at least 3 months before traveling to the United States. Sometimes it may require more time to process, depending on the origin of your license.
STEPS TO YOUR VALIDATION
STEP 2
Scan or copy your foreign license – all pages
Scan or copy your foreign Medical – all pages
** If your license or your medical certificate was not issued in English, attach an English translation
STEP 3
You may send your documents via:

STEP 4
The FAA requests confirmation from the foreign authorities that your pilot’s license and medical certificate are valid. This usually takes about two weeks, but may take longer.
STEP 5
Once the FAA has received this confirmation, it will send a “Verification and Authenticity Letter” to the FSDO office that has jurisdiction for our flight school.
STEP 6
Our FAA Designated Examiner will issue the Restricted Foreign Based Certificate to you.
STEP 7
You will complete the required Biennial Flight Review BFR with one of our Flight Instructor along with the required checkout flight.
